Sheri Rebecca “Becky” Ford passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Becky was born in Homestead Florida on May 10, 1969. She moved to Winnfield with her family in 1971. After graduating from Winnfield High School in 1987 and attending Northwestern University for two years, she decided to become a nurse and went on to attend Huey P. Long Vocational School where she obtained her LPN certification.

Becky loved working as a geriatric nurse and spent several years caring for her patients while working for Winn Home Health and other facilities in the area. She also worked in the Lafayette/New Iberia area as a marketing specialist for several rehabilitation and nursing care facilities. She was a very compassionate and caring nurse and often brought small gifts to her patients to cheer them up.

Becky was very spiritual and was a kind and loving person who had many friends all over the country. She was smart, witty and had a unique outlook on life. She loved cooking, baking, reading (especially mysteries) and writing. She was multi-talented, developing many of her own recipes as well as collecting hundreds of others. Her favorite hobby was creating wreaths and she delighted in conceiving her own unique designs. She loved anything Harry Potter, delighted in reading Christopher Moore and Diane Mott Davison books, and enjoyed watching Antient Aliens on TV. She will be missed by her family and friends from now until eternity. She is irreplaceable.

Becky lived in Ruston with her fiancé, Ed Crawford and their family of cats Ducky, Jujube, and Lafayette, and dog, Jack, who shared their loving, comfortable home. Becky and Ed were soulmates from the time they met and enjoyed decorating their house for holidays, especially Halloween which was her favorite. They also enjoyed traveling and made several trips to Disney World, their favorite vacation spot.

She is survived by her daughter Alex Manning Davis (Charles) and stepson, Ellis, Ruston, who visited her often. She is also survived by her mother Marlene Ford, Ruston; brother, Mike Ford (Donna) and family, Winnfield; sisters, Vivian Skains (Randy) and family, Arcadia; Imogene Thompson and niece Wendy, Shreveport; Debra Smith and nephew Landon, Winnfield; and Theresa Mesecher and nephew Cubie, Flower Mound, Texas. She’s was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy D. Ford; brothers Mitchell Ford and Jimmy Ford; and nephews Chad and Sean Thompson.
