Rex Allen Ferrier, Sr.

Rex Allen Ferrier, Sr. passed away January 4, 2022 at the age of 66. He was born September 8, 1955 in Winnfield, LA to the late Floyd and Dorothy Ferrier.

A visitation was held Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 12:00 - 2:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Grace Funeral Home, 2401 Houston Highway, Victoria, TX. Officiating were Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Dr. Lydon Carpenter.

He is preceded in death by his father Floyd Ferrier; mother Dorothy Ferrier Kelley and a brother Ricky Ferrier.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Terri Lynne Ferrier; children Rex Allen Ferrier, Jr. and Marisa Lynne Ferrier and her husband Ernie Ray Johnson, Jr.; sister Dottie (Danny) Carpenter; brothers Donald Wayne (Rita) Ferrier, Glynn Dale (Rosie) Ferrier and Roger Ferrier; grandchildren Alana Johnson, Kane Johnson, Mason Allen Ferrier, Brennen Gray and Brandtley Gray.

Rex began his career working for oilfield related companies in 1976. As he rose through the ranks, he was transferred to Victoria in 1984 and was very well known in his field of work. He was an avid hunter and after moving to Victoria, became involved with bird dogs for hunting and field trials. His proudest accomplishment was having owner train-ed and handled his beloved Patches to two National Field Trial Championships. He also became a wellknown bird dog trainer and always had a kennel full of dogs.

Rex was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Family was everything to Rex. He loved spending time with his grandchildren whether it be watching their favorite tv horror series or teaching them to fish or handle firearms. He was known for playing his guitar and singing old country songs.
