Mrs. Grigg was born October 16, 1930 in Red River Parish, Louisiana and graduated from Hall Summit High School in 1947. She continued her studies at Louisiana Tech, where she met her future husband Edward Jackson Grigg, from Beinville, Louisiana. One daughter and two sons were born to this union.

The early years of the Griggs’ marriage were spent in Bernice, Louisiana where Mrs. Grigg served as high school librarian and English teacher. After Mr. Grigg completed as B.S. degree in forestry at Louisiana Tech, the couple moved to Winnfield, Louisiana where both were employed.

The nature of the elective speech curriculum inspired Mrs. Grigg to promote excellence and competition. A popular community entertainment was TIGER FOLLIES, the annual spring talent show written and produced by speech students.

Mrs. Grigg was involved in several organizations and memberships over the years. Leadership and hospitality were two of her special gifts. At the time of her death, she had been an active member of First Baptist Church for 68 years. Upon retirement, Mrs. Grigg expanded her talents of sewing and cooking to focus on her special interests of traveling and attending athletic contests of her children and grand children. She enjoyed theater, movies, and television. A favorite pastime with family and friends included multiple table games, especially Rook and Bridge.
