Jimmy Jasper Bradford, age 81, of George town , Louisiana, passed away November 8, 2021 surrounded by family.

Funeral services were Friday, November 12, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Georgetown Baptist Church, with Rev. Carl Griffith and Rev. JR Lee officiating. Interment ed at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown, LA. Visitation was held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Georgetown Baptist Church.

Jim was born in Rochelle, LA, on August 2, 1940. He graduated from Georgetown High School and Northwestern State University. An educator, he taught at Georgetown High School for over 30 years. In addition to teaching Junior High, Jim also taught night school and helped many get their GED. He was also a long time member of the Georgetown Town

Council. Jim loved hunting, whether it was duck, deer, rabbit or hog. Anything involving dogs. But his true passion was fox hunting. He spent countless hours with his friends in the Kisatchie hills at all hours of the night listening to the chase where he often fell asleep on the hood of his truck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Ozroe Bradford and Velma Blackshear Bradford of Georgetown, LA; and sister Melba Jane Little of Winnfield.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cornelia; his children, Lisa Bradford Martin (Scottie) and Jason Bradford (Stacy); stepchildren Melissa Pauley (Jeremy), Melanie Robertson, Amanda Beshea, Clay Nugent (Joanna); grandchildren Dakota Martin, Dani Martin Walker (Wade), Rayne Bradford and Lily Bradford; two great grandchildren, Preston and Celia Walker; thirteen step-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Ray Bradford (Lola) and sister, Debbie Bradford; numerous great grandkids, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers were Dakota Martin, Ray Lynn Bradford, Chip Little, Jimmy Lane Bradford, Rob Little, Derek Redfearn, Wade Walker and Sam Lindsey.

Cornelia, Lisa and Jason would like to thank the Georgetown Police Department as well as all the citizens of Georgetown who have watched out for and helped Jim over these past few years.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Georgetown Cemetery Association, 279 Maxwell Crossing, Georgetown, LA 71432.
